What is Organizational Relationship Intelligence?

We spend a lot of time and money on culture, engagement, team development and psychological safety.

And there are good reasons for that. How people function together affects our ability to collaborate, solve problems, develop ideas and actually get the work done.

That’s why organizations invest in things like inspirational talks and workshops, engagement surveys, analyses of HR data and different solutions to support and encourage employees.

All of that can be valuable.

But there is a problem.

These initiatives are often treated as separate activities and measurements. We do one thing. We measure something else. And then we try to understand whether the organization actually improved.

What is often missing is a coherent picture of the relationships between people.

This is where Organizational Relationship Intelligence, ORI, comes in.

Organizational Relationship Intelligence is the ability to systematically strengthen, understand and measure relationships within an organization, and use that knowledge to improve collaboration, psychological safety and organizational performance.

So it’s not just about measuring relationships.

First, we strengthen them. Then we try to understand what is happening. And after that, we use that knowledge to make things better.
